According to the regional government’s press service, the members of the expedition will make a few training ascents after the arrival in Kabardino-Balkaria.
Members of “The Editor Club”, journalists, representatives of the Arkhangelsk region’s government – nine people in all, are going to conquer the peak. The base camp will be deployed in the mountains at an altitude of 1, 583m. The members of the expedition will have to pass 2,500m from the base camp to the peak. A memorial plate with the peak’s name, the date of Lomonosov’s name’s conferment, the great scientist's lifetime, the flag of the Arkhangelsk Region and the Northern (Arctic) Federal University will be hoisted at about 4 kilometres above sea level. The action is taken under the auspices of “The Editor Club”, the regional government and with the assistance of the Arkhangelsk region’s governor.
Galina Bulatova, a member of the expedition and “The Editor Club”, the editor of the newspaper “Ustyansky District”: “It is noteworthy that on the threshold of our fellow countryman’s 300th anniversary the name of the world-renowned scientist will be immortalized on one of the most beautiful mountain ranges of our planet. The start of the ascent is scheduled for August, 8-9, but everything depends on the weather conditions. The ascent is not going to be easy but we hope we’ll manage to reach the peak”.

Как сообщили ИА «Двина-Информ» в пресс-службе правительства региона, после прибытия в Кабардино-Балкарию участники экспедиции совершат несколько тренировочных подъемов.
Покорять вершину отправятся 9 человек – члены «Клуба редакторов», журналисты, представители правительства Архангельской области. Базовый лагерь будет находиться в горах на высоте 1583 метра. От него до вершины участникам экспедиции предстоит преодолеть 2,5 тысячи метров. Примерно в 4 километрах над уровнем моря будет установлена памятная доска с названием пика, датой присвоения ему имени М. В. Ломоносова, годами жизни великого ученого, флаг Архангельской области и Северного (Арктического) федерального университета. Мероприятия проводится под эгидой «Клуба редакторов», регионального правительства и при поддержке губернатора Архангельской области.
«Примечательно, что в преддверии 300-летнего юбилея нашего земляка, всемирно известного ученого, его имя будет увековечено на одной из самых красивых горных цепей мира, – сказала участник экспедиции, член «Клуба редакторов», редактор газеты «Устьянский край» Галина Булатова. – Начало восхождения запланировано на 8–9 августа, но все будет зависеть от погодных условий. Восхождение будет непростым, но мы надеемся, что сможем дойти до пика».
