A festive outdoor party devoted to the 70th anniversary of the great scientist’s historical and memorial museum has been held in Lomonosov’s homeland within the framework of the festival “Lace of Crafts”. A new hall was opened on the museum’s anniversary...
The great celebration was attended by artisans from many Russian and Pomor towns: Vladimir, Novodvinsk, Arkhangelsk, Suzdal, Kargopol, Kholmogory, Matigory, the Lukovetsky and Leshukonsky Districts. While the artisans were spreading out their goods, residents and visitors of the village Lomonosovo were entertained by the local amateur theatrical group. A choir of cheerful women with traditional northern costumes on sang folk songs and humorous rhymes. The inauguration of a new showroom began with a complimentary song. The museum staff performed “Happy Birthday” and wished success, happiness, and joy to the museum.
Despite the torrential rain, the festival has become a large-scale event. Lomonosovo received cordially all the guests, and a large delegation from Arkhangelsk brought high spirits and gifts with them. Tatyana Butorina, the Vice-President of the Lomonosov’s Fund, and Elena Smyaglikova, the vice-rector on social work at the Northern Arctic Federal University didn’t leave the museum staff unattended. Having said words of gratitude, the guests presented to the museum stock copies of the third volume of the “Pomor Encyclopedia” and the “Photo Chronicle of the ASTU: 1929 – 2009”.
The guests and participants of the festival could try some dishes of the Russian cuisine and shish kebab which is also popular in Pomorye. A great many guests arrived at the festival but there’s only one ferry bound for Lomonosov’s homeland. That’s why the crossing was overcrowded with vehicles, and the people had to wait for their turn for a long time. It is hoped that the problem will have been solved by Lomonosov’s 300th anniversary.

На большой праздник съехались ремесленники из многих городов России и Поморья: Владимира, Новодвинска, Архангельска, Суздали, Каргополя, Холмогор, Матигор, Луковецкого и Лешуконского района. Пока умельцы раскладывали свой товар, жителей и гостей села Ломоносово развлекал местный коллектив художественной самодеятельности. Хор задорных женщин в традиционных северных костюмах, исполнил народные песни и частушки. Торжественное открытие нового выставочного зала музея началось с поздравительной песни. «С днем рождения», пожелав успехов, радости, веселья себе и родному музею, исполнили сами сотрудники музея.
В этом году фестиваль, несмотря на проливной дождь, был очень масштабным событием. Ломоносово радушно приняло всех гостей, и большая делегация из Архангельска привезла с собой хорошее настроение и подарки. Вице-президент Ломоносовского фонда Татьяна Буторина и проректор по социальной работе Северного Арктического Федерального университета Елена Смягликова не оставили без внимания музейных работников. Сказав благодарственные слова, гости подарили фонду музея экземпляры третьего тома «Поморской энциклопедии» и «Фотолетопись АГТУ 1929 - 2009гг.».
Во время фестиваля гости и участники могли отведать блюда русской кухни и не менее популярный в Поморье - шашлык. Гостей на праздник приехало очень много, а паром на Родину Ломоносова - всего один. Из-за этого на переправе создалось столпотворение машин, и людям приходилось долго ждать своей очереди. Остается надеяться, что к 300-летию Ломоносова, эта проблема будет решена.
